Bats
Bats in the attic
They come in at dusk and leave at dusk, and most people only hear a rustle.
Bats are protected wildlife, and a roost with young in it can't be closed. We find where they enter, count the exits at dusk, and fit a one-way valve so the colony leaves on its own. We work in the window the biology and the state's rules allow, and we tell you the dates for your roof.
A dusk watch to count and locate the exits
Valves on every opening in use
No poison, no sealed roost

What it involves
A bat exclusion in three parts
- Evening, by appointment
The dusk watch
We sit outside at dusk and count bats leaving, and mark each opening they use. It tells us how many and where.
- Days to weeks
The valve
A one-way valve over each opening in use lets bats out and not back in. It stays on for days to weeks.
- After the colony leaves
The seal and the cleanup
When the exits stop, we close the openings with steel mesh. Guano cleanup and insulation are quoted separately.
Bat questions
Can you do it this month?
It depends on the season. If young bats are present, we wait until they can fly. We confirm the dates when we inspect.
Do bats damage the house?
Mostly their droppings do. Staining and guano build up under the roost, and that is what the cleanup is for.
Will you remove the bats?
We lead them out. Bats are protected, and the valve is how that is done without harm to them or to you.
Hear something at dusk?
Book an inspection. We will tell you what it is and when the work can be done.
